Delete your LOCATR account
You have the right to delete your LOCATR account and the personal data associated with it at any time. This is your right under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173).
How to request deletion
Send a message to privacy@locatr.hnscorpph.com from the email address associated with your LOCATR account. Subject: "Account Deletion Request".
In the message body, include:
- Your registered phone number (the one you used for SMS OTP)
- Your full name as it appears on your verified ID
We use these to verify it's really you before deleting anything.
You'll receive an acknowledgement within 2 business days and the final deletion confirmation within 15 business days. If we need additional verification, we'll reach out from privacy@locatr.hnscorpph.com — never any other domain.
What gets deleted
| Data type | Status after deletion |
|---|---|
| Your profile (name, photo, bio, contact info) | Deleted |
| Your phone number (used for sign-in) | Deleted — released for new signups after 30 days |
| Government ID images | Already deleted within 48 h of original verification |
| Live selfie images | Already deleted immediately after liveness check |
| Property Title images (landlords) | Already deleted within 48 h of original verification |
| Active listings (landlords) | Removed from public view immediately, fully deleted in 30 days |
| Match history (matches you made or received) | Anonymized — your name removed, leaving only "deleted user" reference for the counterparty's records |
| Chat messages | Deleted from your view immediately; counterparty's view shows "[deleted user]" for your messages, retained on their side per their own data settings |
| LOCATR Score and reviews you wrote | Anonymized — score reset, written reviews remain published under "Verified Renter" without your name |
| Reviews written about you | Anonymized — kept as evidence of historical conduct, but your name is removed |
| Notifications, in-app preferences | Deleted |
What is retained (and why)
| Data type | Retention period | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Signed lease contracts | 10 years | Required as evidence under Philippine Civil Code Arts. 1642–1688 in case of post-lease dispute |
| Payment records (activation fees, reservation, rent collection) | 5 years | Required by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) |
| Audit logs of fraud-prevention actions | 6 months | Cooperation with NBI Cybercrime Division and DOJ when investigations are active |
| Suspended-account flags | Indefinite | Prevents users banned for fraud or harassment from re-registering with a new phone number tied to the same identity |
Partial deletion requests
If you want to delete some of your data without deleting your entire account (e.g., remove a specific photo, edit your bio, withdraw consent for analytics), email us the same way — describe what specifically you want removed. We honour partial requests under the same 15-business-day timeline.
Already deleted your account but changed your mind?
Once we begin the deletion process, it cannot be reversed. You can create a new LOCATR account with the same phone number after 30 days. Your new account will not inherit your old LOCATR Score, match history, or reviews — those were anonymized.
Right to complain
If you believe we haven't properly handled your deletion request, you can file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission:
